Born in Corbeil-Essonnes, Alaib Borne was developed by Troyes between 1972-1976, before joining the professional ranks at the club. But with lots of competition for places in his position, this attacker - who mostly played on the flanks - would rarely see action with Troyes. Indeed, he made just six appearances in his first season in the First Division, and scored his first - an only - goal for the club in a 2-2 draw against...... Rennes! His second season with Troyes followed much the same rhythm as his first, with just six appearances to his name. He was recruited by Stade Rennais in 1978 and he quickly established himself in the starting line-up as a left-winger. His season would end up a disappointment however. In spite of two assists, he would only score two goals in 29 matches. He stayed for a single year at Rennes and left for Caen in the Third Division, where he finished League Champions in 1980. After that, he went back to play in his hometown club, Corbeil-Essonnes from 1980-1985 before hanging up his boots. After his playing days were over, he coached some amateur clubs in the Paris area.
