Alexandre Le Berre was a striker, born in Pléneuf-Val-André in the Côtes d'Armor region of Brittany. He played for a number of years at Stade Lamballais. In 1947, he was signed by Stade Rennais, who were looking to bolster their attacking options. Whilst he wasn't necessarily first-choice at the beginning of the 1947/1948 season, he would slowly increase the amount of gametime in the starting line-up as the campaign wore on. He made 16 league appearances in the First Division that year, as well as four in the French Cup, where he notably scored a brace against Stade Léonard. Picked to play alongside the likes of Cousin and Grumellon, he would net six times in the 1947/1948 season. The following season, however, would seem him much less in the first eleven, as he only played in five matches. He would leave Rennes in 1949 before returning to play in Lamballe.
