Alseny Korouma arrived in Rennes with his compatriot François Kamano at the beginning of 2013, and obtained a professional contract after his post-training in Brittany came to an end. While his compatriot found a outlet with Bastia in Ligue 1, the versatile midfielder was played everywhere from attack to defence by Reserves Manager Laurent Huard. When he reached the end of his contract in June 2015, Philippe Montanier saw him as surplus to requirements.
