On 3rd February 2025, Stade Rennais signed Anthony Rouault on a four-and-a-half year deal from Stuttgart in a transaction worth 13 Million Euros plus 2 Million Euros in potential bonuses. The central defender was developed at Toulouse, and he was brought in to help shore up the shaky Rennes back line. Rouault had already had a rich experience in Germany, notably playing for the Swabian outfit in the Champions League in the 2024/2025 season.
