Arnaud LE LANN

Not to be confused with the other Arnaud Le Lan (who played for Rennes between 2002-2005, this Arnaud Le Lann (with two “n”s) was an exception to the rule. Just like Frédéric Adam and Sylvain Ripoll, he had worn a Rennes shirt before promotion to the Ligue 1, without ever obtaining even a minute’s game-time whilst at the club. Arriving from Lorient in 1989, just like his soundalike 13 years later, this full-back spent 6 seasons at Rennes, of which one was spent on loan at Thouars in 1993/1994, but he only managed in total 8 matches well spaced-out and a mere 250 minutes of game-time.
