After a spell at TA Rennes, Baptiste Gautier joined Stade Rennais in 2011, and entered the Academy in 2013. Initially a midfielder, he played in progressively more withdrawn roles to end up as central defender with the club’s Reserve team in 2017/2018. On 25th May 2018, he signed his first professional contract with the Red and Blacks. After a good season with the Reserve team, where he was captain in National 3 (French 5th Division), the club released him in May 2019. In January 2020, he signed for Brest.
