A year after his elder brother Régis, Benoît Le Bris joined the First Team squad managed by Michel Le Milinaire. This striker by trade was born at Pont-l’Abbé and made his first appearance on 10th September 1995 in a goalless draw at Metz, and his first start in another goalless draw on 10th January 1996, this time at home to Strasbourg. The left-footed specialist went for four seasons playing between 3-6 matches in each. In 1999/2000 he enjoyed his best time under Le Guen, where he was progressively re-positioned as a left midfielder or left-back. In August, Le Bris got on for 25 minutes in the Intertoto Final against Juventus, and found the time to launch a left-footed missile against the post of keeper Van der Sar. It was a strike, which might have changed the course of his career. Despite scoring the winning goal against Le Havre in a 2-1 in February 2000, he would never make his mark at Rennes. After two successive loan spells with Le Havre, he signed for Wasquehal in 2003.
