Bernard Lambert arrived at Stade Rennais from US Saint-Malo in 1956. Lambert was a striker, born in Combourg, and he would only spend one season in Red and Black. He was selected either on the right-side or the left-side of the Rennes attack, making fourteen appearances in the 1956/1957, of which twelve were made in the First Division. He scored two goals for the club, his first coming on Matchday 24 against Marseille, scoring the equaliser in a 1-1 draw. Released by Rennes at the end of the season, he would end his playing career with Le Mans.
