Bruno Le Du arrived at Stade Rennais in 1977. This defender who could also play in midfield arrived at Rennes having played in the youth teams of Roudouallec et Stade Quimpérois. Aged 17 at the time, he would only make one solitary appearance during his first season at the club, in a 5-1 victory against local neighbours Guingamp. During the following 1978/1979 season he would be loaned out - at Rennes' request - to Quimper to get some valuable experience at the Second Division club. After a successful season in Finistère, he returned to Rennes where he would be starved of match practice. Being the back-up to Kerjean at centre-back, he would only make 9 appearances in the 1979/1980 season. The following season proved to be even less fruitful for Le Du, playing in just two matches, in midfield. He would go on to leave Rennes in 1981, with a meagre 12 appearances to his name in total. His playing career came to an end with a season at UCK Vannes and a spell with their local rivals Véloce Vannetais. Injury-prone, he decided to change profession, going into the textile and hygiene business.
