Rennes-born Chibuike Ugochukwu signed his first professional contract with Stade Rennais on 16th December 2025, penning a three year deal with the Red and Blacks. He joined the club as a 7-year-old, and like his older brother - former Rennes player, 5 years previously - Lesley Ugochukwu, Chibuike is a defensive midfielder. He was a member of the victorious Rennes U19 side who won the French Youth Cup (Coupe Gambardella) in 2025. He was given his first call-up with the professional squad on 7th February 2026, when Rennes travelled to Lens for a Ligue 1 fixture.
