Developed at Guingamp, Christophe Revel was playing for Dinan-Léhon when Stade Rennais signed him in July 2000. Under the stewardship of Le Guen, where he was 4th choice goalkeeper behind Lama, Debec and Lucchini, he was played in the Reserves or 3rd Team, and his performances there convinced the club to extend his adventure in Rennes. With Gourcuff in the 2001/2002 season, he moved up to 3rd choice goalkeeper behind Durand and Debec. When Durand was absent, he replaced Debec, who had been sent of in an away game at Montpellier on 15th September 2001. In his 17 minutes on the pitch, Revel was decisive, and enabled his side to earn a 0-0 draw. That would be his only appearance at Rennes, as the club then signed Copa in November 2001. Revel left to join Beveren in Belgium in January 2002. As coach for the young Rennes goalkeepers, he played for Vannes in the League Cup Final against Bordeaux (0-4) in 2009. In the weeks that followed, he was named as Goalkeeping Coach for Stade Rennais’ professional squad.
