After recruiting Emerson for Lille in 2006, Stade Rennais’ Director of Recruitment, Jean-Luc Buisine did it again to bring him to Brittany this time. This Brazilian left back arrived a few days after cancelling his contract with Trabzonspor in Turkey. He was signed as cover for M’Bengue, and only played 14 games, of which 8 were in the starting line-up, and ended up cancelling his contract for personal reasons. In the days which followed, he signed for Atletico Mineiro in Brazil, hooking up with Ronaldinho, who was also there at the time.
