Born in Angers, and coming through the youth team ranks in the same class as Mathys Tel and Jeanuel Belocian, all born in 2005, Désiré Doué is an attacking midfielder who was developed at Stade Rennais. He is the younger brother of Guela Doué, who signed professional in November 2021, and also the cousin of Yann Gboho, who also started his playing career at Rennes, before being loaned out to Vitesse Arnhem. Désiré Doué also obtained 7 caps for the French U17s, scoring three goals in that time, up to January 2022. On 20th February 2022, he was given his first call up with the professionals of Stade Rennais for the home game against Troyes on matchday 25 of the 2021/2022 First Division league season. On 14th April 2022, he signed his first professional contract for Rennes, in a two-year deal. After scoring three goals in his first months as a First-Team player under the tutelage of Bruno Genesio, he extended his contract with the club on 2nd November 2022, and then added an additional season on 7th August 2023, with 34 appearances and 4 goals to his name as a professional footballer. This exciting talent began to establish himself progressively as a first-choice member of the starting line up towards the end of the 2023/2024 season, and attracted the interest of several top clubs, such as Bayern Munich and Paris Saint Germain. His performances earned him call-ups to the French U21 squad. After winning a silver medal with French team under Thierry Henry on home soil at the 2024 Olympic Games, he returned to Brittany, only to be transferred just a couple of days later to Paris Saint Germain for a fee of 55 Million Euros, with upto 20 Million Euros in bonuses on 16th August 2024. He finished with 76 appearances for his first professional club, and with nine goals to his name.
