Eliezer MAYENDA

Born in Zaragoza in Spain in 2005, Eliezer Mayenda began his footballing journey with Ebro in his home town as youth player at the age of 5. He would then move to France to continue his development, notably at CS Brétigny, where he became the object of an offer from Sochaux in November 2017. The attacker would continue with the Academy at Sochaux, before finally making his first-team debut against Nantes in the French Cup in December 2021. He came on as a late sub in a match which finished goalless, alas Nantes went on to win the penalty shoot-out. In making his debut, he became the youngest player ever at Sochaux to play in the first team, at the tender age of just 16 years, 7 months and 10 days old. A month later, he made his first appearance with the reserves, and then signed his first professional contract on 2nd February 2022, making him the youngest-ever to sign a professional contract with the club in Eastern France. The promising youngster's talents were recognised by his native country, and he was called up to play with the Spanish U17s in 2022. In 2023, Mayenda made the huge leap to sign for Sunderland, in the Championship at the time in a deal worth around 1 Million Euros, and a 25% sell-on clause. After a brief loan spell at Hibernian, in Scotland, the Spanish striker went on to help Sunderland to achieve promotion to the Premier League, even getting called up for duty with the Spanish U21s, and then Sunderland even went on to qualify for European football in this first season as a promoted club. In the summer transfer window in July 2026, Stade Rennais were looking to bolster their attacking options with a season in the Europa League beckoning, and signed the Spaniard from Sunderland in a deal worth around 25 Million Euros
