Éric ATTA

The young Éric Atta arrived from Bénin, and was a hit in the youth teams at Chätellerault and finished his apprenticeship at Stade Rennais when he was 18. He signed his first professional contract for three years in 1993. A regular participant with the professional squad at training, the Bénin lad was never given the chance by Michel Le Milinaire or Yves Colleu. He left the club to go back to Amateur football in 1996 after three seasons without a single appearance on the team sheet. At the end of his short-lived footballing career, he rejoined Rennes Academy setup as a youth team coach to help share his knowledge of the game which went unused as a player.
