Born in the Seine-Saint-Denis area of Paris, Fousseni Diabaté arrived at Stade Rennais at the tender age of 9. He would stay there for several years, before joining the Academy of Stade de Reims, and then continued his apprenticeship with Guingamp. He turned professional in June 2017, signing for Gazelec Ajaccio in the Second Division. A lively and powerful striker, he would make twenty appearances in Corsica before being picked up by Claude Puel, manager of Leicester City at the time, in January 2018. He was a regular member of the starting line-up during his early months in England. Thereafter, he would progressively lose that place, and ended up being loaned out to Sivasspor in Turkey in January 2019. When he returned to the Premier League club at the end of his loan spell at the beginning of the 2019/2020 season, he no longer figured in the manager's plans at Leicester. He was loaned out once more, gaining some valuable gametime with Amiens in Ligue 1. After a season in the Picardie region, and twenty matches under his belt, he was recruited by Turkish club Trabzonspor, but he would see little action there. He remained in Turkey, however, with two further loan spells, with Göztepe, then Giresunspor. U20 Mali international, he also played for the U23 national team. His next stop was Partizan Belgrade, where he made an excellent start in the UEFA Europa Conference League, scoring a brace in 5 minutes against Slovacko, on 8th September 2022, helping his team to a 3-3 draw.
