Rennes-born goalkeeper, Francis Huchet, signed for Stade Rennais in 1937. In his first season in Red and Black, he would play for the Amateur side of Stade Rennais University Club, who were playing in Division d'Honneur at the time. He would play but few games with the professional squad during his years at the club. His debut came in the 1938/1939 season, on the last day of the Second Division season in a 3-2 win at Hautmont. In the following 1939/1940 season, he would make just two appearances: A 2-2 draw in a friendly against US Servannaise, and then a Charles SImon Cup tie, in a 2-0 win at Cholet. With stiff competition from Miramond, Mercier and Bonneville, he would end up with only three professional appearances to his name. He left Stade Rennais in 1940, and finished his playing days with the Rennes Railwaymen team (Cheminots Rennais) in amateur football.
