A player who had a promising future when he began his career with Stade Brestois, Frédéric Adam signed his first professional contract at Rennes on the eve of the 1993/1994 season. During this promotion season, this defensive midfielder stayed in the shadows of Lambert, Ribar and Huard, but still managed to get some game time. He made his debut as a sub at half-time during the spectacular home game against Beauvais (5-3). After 5 appearances in the Second Division, he was one of the players who started the new campaign in the top flight. But the arrival of Ohrel meant that he wasn’t given any more playing time, and only made it onto the teamsheet once. He was transferred to Châteauroux in 1995.
