Gaston Langouët was defender, hailing from Rougé in the Loire Atlantique region. He spent several seasons with Voltigeurs de Châteaubriant before joining Stade Rennais in 1947. He would spend six years playing for Rennes, but would spend most of his time in the Amateurs of Stade Rennais University Club. Indeed, he would only make one solitary appearance with the professionals. On 28th March 1948, Langouët made his debut in the First Division in an away game at Stade Français on matchday 29 of the 1947/1948 season. He was selected to play on the left side of the Rennes defence to cover for the absence of Hennequin. He would leave Rennes in 1953 to sign for the amateur side Château-du-Loir, before finishing his playing days with Neuillé-Pont-Pierre.
