Georginio Rutter arrived at Stade Rennais’ Academy setup in the Summer of 2017 from Vannes. A very promising centre-forward who became a prolific marksman both with the Youth teams at Rennes as well as the French national side. In August 2018, Rutter became the youngest player to sign a professional contract with the club, aged just 16 years, 3 months and 19 days. After an appearance on the bench on the 18th August of the same year, Rutter was to resurface with the Professional side in the 2020/2021 season. He was notably Rennes' goalscorer from the penalty spot in last Champions League fixture at home to Sevilla, but he chose to try his luck (rather prematurely) abroad. On the 1st February 2021, for a sum of 900,000 Euros (including development club compensation) , he left the club that had developed him to sign for Hoffenheim in Germany with five months left on his contract, and after just five professional appearances in Red and Black.
