Guillaume Le Boëdec was a defender, born in the Paris region. He began in the Val-de-Marne area, with VGA Saint-Maur, during the 1940s. A solid and upstanding player, he turned professional in 1954 when he signed for Stade Rennais. He would mostly be used on the left side of the Red and Blacks' defence, and he made the breakthrough as first-choice in his first season at the club. The following season, however, he saw his game-time reduced, as he was in the squad rotation with Toupel and the young Boutet. He would sometimes end up being used as cover at right-back, and he would end up winning the Second Division title with Rennes in 1956. Despite achieving promotion to the top flight, he would leave Rennes at the end of the 1955/1956 season, to return to the centre of France once more, signing for Red Star in the Second Division. He would play for three seasons with the team from the Aude region, and would be a lynchpin of their defence. He finished his playing career with Saint-Brieuc, where he would sadly pass away on 13th July 1989, aged just 59 years.
