Issa SOUMARÉ

Born in October 2000 in Senegal in the town of Podor, Issa Soumaré would become one of a long line of Senegalese talented footballers to be developed by Génération Foot. In 2019, he signed his first contract in France with Orléans, who were playing in Ligue 2 at the time. He would stay with the club, despite Orléans being relegated to the French third tier, National, and scored 8 goals in his 31 matches that season. In the 2021 Summer transfer window, Soumaré left Orléans having made a total of 49 appearances, to start a new challenge in Belgium with Beerschot. A few months' later, however, he found himself frozen out, and needed to take a loan spell in France to assure some gametime. He was loaned to US Quevilly Rouen, in Normandy. He would score six goals, and provide six assists during his time there. In July 2023, Soumaré left Beerschot on a permanent basis to sign on a three-year deal for Le Havre, who had just achieved promotion to Ligue 1. He again found himself out on loan, this time with Auxerre, in Ligue 2. He made 17 appearances in Burgundy, and helped them to the Ligue 2 title. For the 2024/2025 season, the Senegalese attacker finally managed to establish himself under the tutelage of manager Didier Digard, and he would continue his development in his second year. At the end of the 2025/2026 season, he had played 71 times for Le Havre, scoring 13 goals. Out of contract, Soumaré chose a new challenge in Brittany with Stade Rennais on a free transfer on 16th June 2026, signing a four-year deal with the Red and Blacks.
