Disappointed with the performances of their first-choice keeper Douchez at the end of the 2009/2010 season, the club decided to recruit a new goalkeeper on equal footing with the arrival of Johann Carrasso. Arriving as part of a transfer package with Montaño, he struggled to reach the level of performance which had thrust him into the limelight in 2009 before being stopped in his tracks by a serious injury. Whilst he was afforded starts in the cup competitions, he never won over his Manager, and it didn’t help his cause that Douchez had also regained his best form. Feeling betrayed in June 2011 when Costil arrived and leapfrogged over him in the hierarchy as the club’s number 1, Carrasso was loaned to Monaco with a buyout clause. In the 2012/2013 season, he was loaned out once more, this time to Metz, who had been relegated to National (French 3rd Division). With a year still to run on his contract, the brother of Bordeaux’s Cédric was released by the Red and Blacks, and joined Metz on a permanent basis.
