Born in Hereford, in England, in 2004, midfielder Jordan James joined the Birmingham City Academy setup in 2012, and he would eventually make the breakthrough there in professional football in 2021. He even managed to cap his full professional debut against Blackpool in November 2021 with an assist for what proved to be the winning goal.
Picked for the Welsh U16 and U18 national selections, he swapped to represent England at U20 level on two occasions. Eventually, however, he chose to represent Wales at senior level (qualifying through his father's nationality), making his debut in 2023, taking part in the Euro 2024 qualifying matches.
Having spent twelve years, making 95 appearances and scoring 9 goals in all competitions for 'The Blues' of Birmingham City, who had just suffered relegation to League One, the versatile midfielder was courted by Stade Rennais in the Summer of 2024, and the Welsh international signed with the Red and Blacks on 12th August 2024, in a four-year deal worth around 5 Million Euros for the English side, thus following in the footsteps of compatriot Joe Rodon, who had spent time on loan at Rennes from Tottenham two seasons earlier..
