As soon as the transfer window opened on 12th June 2018, Stade Rennais announced the signing of Jordan Siebatcheu from Reims for a sizeable sum. Born in the United States with Cameroon parents, this centre-forward had been at Stade de Reims since childhood. It was during a loan at Châteauroux at the beginning of 2017 that he really launched his career, before demonstrating his potential again at Reims in 2018, scoring 17 goals in Ligue 2. After a 4 month goal drought, he finally broke his duck, scoring in the first game under Manager Stéphan at Lyon. He then scored a crucial brace in the last 16 of the the French Cup in 2019 against Lille, before being hampered by a series of injuries. After dropping behind Niang and Hunou in the pecking order, "Pefok" trained with the Reserves in the Summer of 2020. On 14th September, he was loaned to Young Boys Bern in Switzerland with a buyout clause of 2.5 Million Euros. Whilst there on loan, Siebatcheu scored 15 goals, of which three came in the Europa League between December 2020 and May 2021, and the freshly-crowned Swiss champions decided to execute the buyout clause for the American international striker for the agreed sum of 2.5 Million Euros. His record at Rennes in two seasons with the club was 8 goals in 44 matches. He would also become remembered as a hero from their victorious French Cup run in 2019, scoring a decisive brace against Lille in the Round of 16.
