On Tuesday 20th June 2017, Stade Rennais welcomed Jordan Tell to the club. Developed at Caen the Guadaloupe striker signed his first professional contract for 3 seasons in Brittany, after 5 brief appearances for Caen in Ligue 1. After just 12 minutes of his Ligue 1 debut as a substitute for Rennes at Troyes, he scored a goal for his new club. Unfortunately, this promising start wasn’t to continue in the months that followed. After accumulating just 115 minutes of game-time in a Rennes shirt, he was loaned out to Valenciennes in Ligue 2 on Tuesday 30th January 2018. After his interesting interlude in the North of France, Jordan Tell extended his contract for two seasons, and was loaned out to Orléans this time on 27th July 2018. After another positive loan spell, he returned on loan to his former club SM Caen on 27th August 2019. This time, he spent a lot of his loan spell out injured, and he made a permanent move to Clermont on 7th July 2020 on a free transfer, albeit with a high percentage sell-on clause.
