In August 2010, Kamal Issah became the final recruit in the Summer transfer window for Stade Rennais FC. After Antonetti had trialled him early in the season, this versatile midfielder from Ghana signed a 3-year contract, but joined the Reserve team to begin with. With injuries decimating the First-Team squad, he made three appearances on the team sheet during the 2010/2011 season, and spent preseason with the professional squad in 2011. After a total of 5 appearances on the team sheet in two seasons, he left France to join Nordsjælland in Denmark.
