Norwegian international defender Leo Østigård began his professional playing career at Molde, and was then loaned to Stavanger, aged 18, to gain match experience. Good in the air, and a physical player, Østigård was spotted by Brighton and Hove Albion, who would sign him in the summer transfer window in 2018. Predominantly used as a right-sided centre-back, his time in England would end up being disrupted by multiple loan spells after his first season with "The Seagulls" First up, was a loan spell with German outfit FC St Pauli for the 2019/2020, then with Coventry for the subsequent season. In the 2021/2022 season he was loaned out twice in the same campaign, spending six months with Stoke City and then finishing the season with Italian side Genoa. In July 2022, his stay in England was ended for good, when he signed for Napoli. With his new club, he won the Scudetto (Serie A title) in 2023, and played in the Champions League for the first time in his career (scoring twice in his 7 appearances.) The 2023/2024 would see his gametime dwindle, however, making 32 appearances in all competitions. On 30th July 2024, he signed for Stade Rennais from Napoli, in a deal worth 7 Million Euros.
