On the look-out for a new central defender after the departure of Damien Da Silva to Lyon, Stade Rennais invested in Loïc Badé on 5th July 2021. After an excellent season at Lens 2020/2021, the native of Sèvre became Rennes' record signing from a French club. The transfer fee was 17 Million Euros, with a 3 Million Euro bonus. After a timid and disappointing start to his Rennes career, he failed to convince Bruno Genesio in his first season, or in the pre-season of the 2022/2023 campaign. On 1st September, just before the summer transfer window deadline, he was loaned out to Nottingham Forest with a buyout clause, worth 14 Million Euros, if the English club survived relegation in the Premier League. But he wouldn't play a single minute in the Premier League in half-a-season, and he broke off his loan deal, to start a brand new one with immediate effect at FC Sevilla on 29th December 2022, with a 12 Million Euro buyout clause.
