Maxime Fleury arrived at the Stade Rennais Academy in 2012 from Chartres. An imposing striker, he shone in the different youth team categories with the Red and Blacks. The step up to the Reserves proved to be somewhat more difficult, especially given the number of professionals who were keeping him out of the team, and depriving him of game-time. In the Summer of 2016, the club didn’t offer him a professional contract (unlike other team-mates in the same year-group, such as Alexandre Leroyer or James Léa-Siliki), but stayed on for an additional year on a Federal contract. In August 2017, he left Rennes on a free at the end of his contract, and signed for OGC Nice’s Reserve team.
