Mickaël Buzaré was one of the great prospects of Stade Brestois, who were playing in National (French 3rd Division) in 1996. Stade Rennais recognised his precocious talent, and got him to sign a professional contract on his 20th birthday. Under Yves Colleu, and then Guy David, he was perfectly integrated in the group, and was a part of the squad who secured survival in 1997/1998. Unfortunately, he spent most of that season either watching from the stands, or playing with the Reserves in CFA (French 4th Division). Having arrived as an attacking winger, he was progressively pressed into service as a midfielder. After just one appearance on the team sheet of the professional team in two years, the Breton joined Laval in 1998. Reconverted as a right-back, he finished his career there after 12 seasons of good and loyal service.
