Born in Vendôme, in the centre of France, Franco-Tunisian striker Mohamed Chebbi joined the Stade Rennais Academy in 2023/2024 to play for the U16s. He would go on to score twice in the U19s on their way to success in the French Youth Cup (Coupe Gambardella), adding two assists into the bargain, including one in the Final itself for Ruben Lomet in 2025. His year would be a successful one on many fronts, having also won the prestigious Academies Cup in Ploufragan. He was called up to the Reserves for the first time in the 1-1 draw against Guingamp's Reserve side in the French fifth tier (Nationale 3). His performances also caught the eye of the French Youth Team selectors, who he represented at U16, U17 and U18 level, including victory in the International tournament in Montaigu in 2024. The youngster was then rewarded with his first professional contract for three years on 12th March 2026, keeping him at Rennes until 2029.
