Patrick SEMBEL

Patrick Sembel was a defender, equally at home in central defence as he was at left-back. Born in La Rochelle, he joined the Stade Rennais Academy set-up in 1984, aged 17. During his first two seasons, he played for the Reserves, and only became part of the First Team group from 1986 onwards. He would unfortunately never make the breakthrough, and only made a few appearances. In that season, he made only 7 appearances for Stade Rennais, of which 6 starts. In 1987/1988, and with a lack of game time in the First Team, he rejoined the Reserves. He left Rennes in 1988 to sign for Epinal. After his playing days were over, he took over the role of Manager at a club in his native region.
