Pépé Bonet arrived from the INF Clairefontaine (National Football Centre) in July 2018, and enjoyed a meteoric rise with Stade Rennais. He achieved the title of U19 French Champions - though only aged 16 - in June 2019. The goalkeeper signed his first professional contract with Stade Rennais on 10th July of the same year, at the tender age of 16 years, 4 months and 27 days. His rise didn’t stop there, because he became third-choice keeper for the professional squad at the club on the eve of the 2019/2020, making his debut in the Europa League against Cluj (0-2) at Roazhon Park in 2019 after Mendy was sent off.
