Born in the Finistère region of France, Pierre Bianic began his footballing journey at local club AS Brestoise in the different age categories of their youth team, notably playing in the French FA Youth Cup (Coupe Gambardella). As an astute and talented midfielder, he caught the eye of Stade Rennais, who signed him in 1973. He was signed on apprentice professional forms initially for the Red and Blacks, and he would make just six league appearances in his lone season at the club. He was given six starts, three of which saw him deployed in attack, in a 4-2-4 system. His first appearance for Stade Rennais came on 17th October 1973, in an away match against subsequent League Champions Saint-Etienne on Matchday 11. At the end of the 1973/1974 season, he left Rennes to sign for Quimper in the Second Division. He spent four seasons with the club, occasionally turning out for the Reserves there. After over 60 appearances in the Second Division, he returned to his first club, AS Brestoise in the Third Division between 1980-1981.
