Pierre Guillard hails from Loudéac in the Côtes d'Armor region of Brittany. He started playing football with Damgan, spending several years at the club. In 1981, he moved on to Stade Rennais, where he would make just one cameo appearance as a substitute. Indeed, the mldfielder would only get on to the pitch for the game between Rennes and Dunkerque (3-0) on the 8th May 1982, coming on to replace Farès Bousdira. These would prove to be his only minutes in a Rennes shirt. He would leave the Red and Blacks at the end of that season, and went on to end his playing days with Vannes.
