Born in Pantin, Rayane Doucouré started football at the tender age of 5. Central defender by trade, he played for Red Star in their U14s youth side, and then played with the youngsters of Aubervilliers. In 2018, he joined the Stade Rennais Academy setup, and would go on to be captain of the Rennes Youth Teams which became French Champions at U17s and then at U19s level. His good performances opened the door for him to be selected for the U16s, U17s, U18s and U19s French National Teams. Despite this recognition, he would not be retained by Stade Rennais, moving on to Guingamp in 2021, and then to Bordeaux in 2022. But he was deemed surplus to requirements with both of those clubs, and remained clubless until October 2023, when he would sign to Red Star's Reserve Team, with an Amateur licence. A month later, he was drafted into the professional group at the club for training, and given his first appearance in National 1 (French Third Division) by Red Star against GOAL FC. On his first start, against Villefranche, he would even score his first-ever goal at that level. Thereafter, he became first-choice in Habib Beye's team, and finished the 2023/2024 season with a League Champions' medal. At the end of the campaign, the club - from the Aude region in the South of France - offered him his first contract as a professional footballer.
