Born in 2008 in Saint-Malo, the promising centre-back Ruben Lomet began his footballing journey with his hometown club, US Saint-Malo. In 2019, he was signed up to the Stade Rennais Academy setup. His performances earned him a call up at Youth Level for the French national team. He was even named captain of the France U17s for the U17 World Cup in the Autumn of 2025. Soon after his return, the 1 metre 85cm tall defender was offered his first professional contract by Stade Rennais, which he signed on 11th December 2025, tying him to the club that developed him until 2029.
