On 21st July 2025, Stade Rennais signed Valentin Rongier on a 3-year contract. The central midfielder, developed at Nantes, arrived from Marseille in a deal worth 5.5 Million Euros plus 2 Million Euros in potential bonuses. He arrived at the same time as another former Nantes player, left back Quentin Merlin.
