Having arrived from his hometown of Champigny-sur-Marne in July 2013, Yan Valéry continued his footballing apprenticeship at Stade Rennais. This right full-back soon left Brittany in July 2015 to accept a tempting offer from Southampton. A few months after his departure, Valéry signed - in February 2016 – his first professional contract with The Saints aged just 17.
