Yassine Jebbour quietly signed his first-ever professional contract for 3 years at the club who had developed him in the Summer of 2009. The 18 year old had been the subject of much attention from other clubs, so Stade Rennais wanted to end their interest. As a player who was at ease on either side of the defence, the French-Moroccan player had a complete season with the Reserves in CFA (French 4th Division) before joining the First Team squad on a daily basis as of 2010 under Antonetti. With Souprayen injured, Jebbour made his top-flight debut against Valenciennes (1-0) and finished the season as understudy at left-back. In January 2013, he is loaned to Ligue 1’s bottom club, Nancy, as his path to the starting line-up was barred by Mavinga, and the return of Ilunga. After his loan spell, he returned to Rennes and found some renewed faith under the new Manager Montanier, only for a catastrophic error in an away match at Nice on Matchday 2 to destroy that confidence in him. A week later, at the end of August 2013, he was sold to Montpellier.
