After spending several years with Stade Briochin, Yvon Amice arrived at Stade Rennais in 1961. Born in the Côtes d'Armor region in Brittany, Amice would play primarily in the Amateur team, but was called up for service for the professionals in the First Team in the 1961/1962 season, making four apperances. This defender made his debut on matchday 34 against Saint-Etienne on 15th April 1961, replacing injured first-choice right-back Gouès, and made four successive appearances. The following season would see him sent back to the Amateurs of the Red and Blacks, and he left Rennes in 1963 to join Stade Quimpérois, for whom he would go on to play until 1970.
