In April 2021, Olivier Cloarec took over the role of Vice-CEO of Stade Rennais Football Club. On 24th May of the previous year, Cloarec - who was born in Brittany - became Executive President of the club, replacing Nicolas Holveck, who had been affected by serious illness. Previously, Cloarec had began his experience in the world of football as a Communications Manager at RC Strasbourg, aged 25. After his time in Alsace, he became Communications Director with Stade Brestois, back in his native Brittany, before moving on to become Managing Director of Vannes OC in 2008. In 2012/2013, he took on the task of creating a new training ground for Stade Brestois, and subsequently became Development Officer with FC Lorient until 2015. Secretary-General with Dijon FCO from 2015 onwards, he became their CEO in July 2018. When Dijon found themselves relegated to the Second Division, he returned "home" to Brittany in April 2021 to work for Stade Rennais. After three-and-a-half years as President for the Red and Blacks, Cloarec was replaced by Arnaud Pouille at the head of the board by the Rennes owners on 4th October 2024 as part of a reshuffle of personnel at the top of the club.
