Developed at Stade Rennais where he had arrived in 2016, Truffert made numerous appearances for France at youth level. Enjoying a good season in 2019/2020, the left-back was called-up into the First Team Squad on 23rd February 2020 for the home game against Nîmes. On Thursday 28th May, he signed a first professional contract for 3 seasons with the club who developed him. For his first game as a professional on 19th September 2020, he came on as a substitute as left-back, and crowned a remarkable debut appearance with an assist and the winning goal against Monaco. As a reward for his progress, and the promising future ahead of him, he was offered a two-year contract extension on 25th February 2021. Despite competition from Maouassa, Dalbert and Meling, Truffert made the breakthrough as first-choice left-back with Rennes. On 25th September 2022, he experienced his debut as a second-half substitute for the senior French National Team in the UEFA Nations League in a 0-2 defeat in Copenhagen against Denmark. Having made 114 appearances, scoring four goals for Rennes, Truffert signed a contract extension, tying him to the club until 2026, on 23rd August 2023. At the start of the 2024/2025 season, Truffert inherited the captain's armband after the departure of club skipper Benjamin Bourigeaud for Qatar. During the course of the season, he would score three times, and support his strikers with two assists during an otherwise disappointing season for Stade Rennais. His dynamic performances contributed to a rising price tag over his ten years with the club that developed him. In the close season, the defender accepted a new challenge with an offer from Premier League Bournemouth, signing a five-year contract for the South Coast outfit on 16th June 2025, in a deal worth 17 Million Euros plus a 10% sell-on clause. Truffert left Rennes with a tally of 191 appearances in all competitions, having scored nine goals for the Red and Blacks.
