Developed at Stade Rennais where he had arrived in 2016, Truffert made numerous appearances for France at youth level. Enjoying a good season in 2019/2020, the left-back was called-up into the First Team Squad on 23rd February 2020 for the home game against Nîmes. On Thursday 28th May, he signed a first professional contract for 3 seasons with the club who developed him. For his first game as a professional on 19th September 2020, he came on as a substitute as left-back, and crowned a remarkable debut appearance with an assist and the winning goal against Monaco. As a reward for his progress, and the promising future ahead of him, he was offered a two-year contract extension on 25th February 2021. Despite competition from Maouassa, Dalbert and Meling, Truffert made the breakthrough as first-choice left-back with Rennes. On 25th September 2022, he experienced his debut as a second-half substitute for the senior French National Team in the UEFA Nations League in a 0-2 defeat in Copenhagen against Denmark. Having made 114 appearances, scoring four goals for Rennes, Truffert signed a contract extension, tying him to the club until 2026, on 23rd August 2023.
