Career |
|
Pau native, Hicham M’Laab joined Stade Rennais FC’s Academy setup in 2005. Developed as a striker, this hardworking player was confined to a spell on the left to prove his capabilities. In May 2008, he opened the score for Rennes in the Gambardella Cup Final (French FA Youth Cup) against Girondins de Bordeaux at the Stade de France. This highlight of his young career wasn’t crowned by a professional contract at the club, however, mainly due to his inconsistency, and the more-gifted (on paper, at least) generation of players with the likes of Le Tallec, Camara, Lasimant and Brahimi coming through. When he returned to his hometown club in Pau, he made his mark in CFA (French 4th Division). In October 2013, he signed a first professional contract with RC Lens.
