Born in Guadeloupe in 2005, Jeanuel Belocian began playing football with the Association des Jeunes du Castel at the age of 5. Aged 8, he left to play for Stade Lamentinois on his native island. In 2020, this talented left-sided midfielder was spotted by Stade Rennais. In July 2020, he was taken on by the Stade Rennais Academy set up. In September 2021, he was called up for the French U17s, taking part in a couple of friendlies. He was also included in the list of squad players submitted to UEFA to potentially take part in the Europa Conference League, in spite of never having been called up to the First Team squad at that time. On the 10th Novembre 2021, he signed his first professional contrat with the Red and Blacks, and he celebrated his first appearance as a professional for Rennes coming on as a substitute in the 6-1 thrashing of Metz at Roazhon Park on 20th March 2022. In the 2022/2023 season, he made 11 appearances, of which 9 came in the starting line-up. Despite an unfortunate own-goal in the Europa League against Shakhtar Donetsk, Belocian would be credited with some remarkable performances, and started the last four league games of the season, and helped his team to achieve qualification for the Europa League for a second season running. On 7th July 2023, he extended his contract for a further season, until 2025.
