Jérémy Jacquet was born in the Seine-Saint-Denis area of Paris. He arrived at Stade Rennais, aged 14, in 2019 from Joinville. This athletic central defender would spend three seasons in development at the club before joining the professional set-up in September 2022. A pacy player with a good ability to clear his lines, he would be selected for the French U17 team in April 2022. A promising defender, he signed his first professional contract on 20th September 2022, committing himself to the Red and Blacks for three years, which would take effect from July 2023.
On 13th January 2024, he took his first steps as a professional football, appearing as a substitute five minutes from the end of the 2-0 home win against Nice, as part of Matchday 18 of the Ligue 1 season. Jacquet was then loaned (without a buyout clause) by Stade Rennais to fellow top-flight side Clermont Foot until the end of the 2023/2024 season on 29th January 2024, in order to gain valable game-time and experience in Ligue 1.
After a run of good performances which helped France to reach the Final of the U19 European Championships, Jacquet figured in the starting line up for the big occasion, where they eventually lost out to Spain. Upon his return to Rennes after the tournament, he signed a contract extension on 6th August 2024 tying him to Rennes until June 2027, and was loaned straight back out to Clermont for the 2024/2025 season.
