On 31st January 2018, Stade Rennais bought the promising youngster, barely an adult. The club prised the playmaker from Le Havre in a 10 Million Euro deal, and he was loaned straight back to the Normandy club - which had developed him - until the end of the season. When he returned to Rennes, he suffered from a cruciate knee ligament injury, and - in his first full season at the club - Guitane never kicked a ball in anger. In the 2019/2020 season, he made the odd brief appearance in Ligue 1 and in the Europa League. Not retained in the First Team squad for the pre-season preparations in July 2020, Guitane was loaned to Maritimo Funchal on 11th August 2020. Out of favour at Rennes upon his return, he was definitively transferred to Stade de Reims on 30th August 2021, but remained on loan with Maritimo Funchal.
