Sebastian SZYMANSKI

Born on 10th May 1999 in Biała Podlaska, in Poland, Sebastian Szymanski began playing football at the tender age of six years old with his local club, TOP 54 Biała Podlaska. In 2013, Szymanski signed for Legia Warsaw, initially playing for the Reserve team for the club in the Polish capital city. In the 2015/2016 season, he made 12 appearances for the reserves, scoring once in that time. He also took part in Legia's UEFA Youth League campaign that season, and also appeared in the Central Junior League, which his team would win after a two-legged 5-4 aggregate victory over Pogon Szczecin, with Szymanski netting a crucial brace in the second leg. His big bow with the professionals came in the Polish Supercup Final, albeit on the wrong side of a 1-4 defeat by Lech Poznan. His first league appearance in Legia Warsaw colours was also to end on the losing side, against Arka Gdynia, in August 2016. Three months later, he extended his contract until the end of June 2019. His first goal for Legia was achieved in a 3-1 win against Zagłębie Lubin, on 3rd March 2017. He would continue to progress as a player, and was rewarded with another contract extension until 2022, before lifting the Polish Cup in 2018. In 2019, the attacking midfielder tried his hand playing in Russia, with Dynamo Moscow. His early performances soon won over the supporters, and he won the Player of the Month Award in October 2019. A month later, he netted his first goal in the Russian Premier League, a historic goal, in that it was enough to give Dynamo Moscow their first away win over Rubin Kazan in over 13 years. 2019 was also the year when he was given his first call-up for the Polish national team, and he would net his first international goal against Slovenia in a 2020 European Championships qualifying tie on 19th November 2019. Happy with his situation at the club, he extended his contract in the Russian capital by 5 years in June 2021, and celebrated by winning three Player of the Month awards between July and November 2021. in July 2022, however, Szymanski was sent out on loan to the Netherlands, signing for Feyenoord. He managed two assists on his debut in the Eredivisie, a 5-2 away win at Vitesse Arnhem, and his first goal for the Dutch side came in a 4-0 win over against Emmen on 27th August 2022. He had a decent loan spell there, scoring 9 goals in 22 matches, but his future would lay elsewhere. He would eventually sign for Fenerbahce for 9.75 Million Euros in the Süperlig in Türkiye, penning a four-year deal with the Istanbul club. His first goal in his new club didn't take long to arrive. He scored in the Conference League against Zimbru, and would also become the player who notched Fenerbahce's 4000th goal in the club's history, in February 2025, against Alanyaspor. He would go on to score a brace at Rangers in the Europa League in the 2024/2025. By the end of 2025, he had scored 22 goals in 134 appearances for Fener, also providing 30 assists in that time. During the Winter transfer window in January 2026, Stade Rennais were on the lookout for an attacking player with a creative profile to bolster the squad, and the Polish international fitted the bill perfectly for the Red and Blacks. On 22nd January 2026, Szymanski completed his transfer to Brittany for approximately 9.5 Million Euros + 1 Million Euros in potential bonuses), signing a three-and-a-half year deal with Rennes, linking up with his compatriot Frankowski.
