On Monday 10th July 2017, Stade Rennais officially announced the arrival of the Spanish attacker Thomas Brandon Llamas (Known as “Brandon.”) Signed from Mallorca, the striker arrived on a three-year deal, with a good reputation, having already attracted the attention of Barcelona because of his profile. Hardly ever given the chance by successive managers (Christian Gourcuff and then Sabri Lamouchi) despite some promising displays when coming off the bench as a substitute, Brandon did score the winner at Montpellier during a rare appearance. On the 25th July 2018, he was loaned to Osasuna for 1 Million Euros, with a buyout clause. With promotion to the Spanish top flight assured, the club, based in Pamplona, took advantage of the clause, and signed Brandon on a permanent basis for 2 Million Euros.
